Senior Finance Manager – Real Assets (Ref.# AFL889) – OPEN

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accounting requirements and reporting deadlines for a whole team are met
  • Overseeing planning, scheduling, and monitoring of workloads
  • Act as a mentor to Financial Reporting Managers, and supervise and assist in the training and development of staff
  • Act as a higher authority on day-to-day accounting queries
  • Ensuring that company policies and professional guidelines are adhered to and that a professional quality service is provided to clients and external contacts
  • Manage the accounting and reporting deliverables of the more complex parts of the client portfolio
  • When required, assist with the review of accounting deliverables like investor reports, statutory financial statements and periodic management accounts
  • Supervise the audit process for all clients within the team, building strong relationships with audit firms
  • Attend client board meetings and present quarterly financial information
  • Assist with team staffing and team structuring, as well as client billing
  • Get an understanding of the team processes and systems, and recommend ways to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Manage the client relationships and build rapport with all third parties
  • Arrange and manage the appraisal process for reporting lines

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor or Master degree)
  • Relevant professional qualification (ACCA or ACA) is a plus
  • At least 7 years' experience as an experienced accounting professional
  • At least 4 years’ of practical real estate fund accounting experience
  • Sound technical financial services knowledge (to be supported through the Group's Academy)
  • Computer literacy, word processing and spread sheet skills are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
  • Strong people management experience
  • Evidence of managing a major client relationship
